BIRTHDAY CARD 'HIPPIE CHICK' TUTORIAL

Dear Readers, I did not write for a while. I have been busy with my other projects. One of them was a card for a little girl to celebrate her first birthday.

The idea for this project was born from my previous project, another birthday card for a girl.
I was asked to create a keepsake for this occasion.

I would like to share with you the tutorial of the card 'Hippie Chick' .

I used the aperture card and globe from Katy Sue Designs.

For image I stamped Sugar Nelie image 'Hippie Chick'.
Coloured in with Promarkers.
added dried flowers, which were enhanced with micro beads in their centers. I glued them using silicon glue. This glue helps to create dimension.
For grass texture i used flower soft.

Next I used Distress inks (squeezed lemonade and shaded lilac) to colour in background of main card.

Then I placed globe in place and fixed everything with the glue or double sided tape.
To make it more playful i used Chain Link Border Peel Offs 14 Sheets - Pastel Colours.

Added stickers 'Happy Birthday' and 2 flowers made from die cuts using Spellbinders dies set 'Anemone'. And placed a gem in the middle.

 USEFUL TIPS:

  • you can create a shaker card in the same way by placing loose beads within the globe, or loose flower soft/ glitter (of course with last product it will not make noise).
  • If you use flower soft or glitter to enhance your work and glue them inside the globe, DO NOT use loose beads or other hard object inside the globe. They will hit off the place flower soft and you will end up with mess.

I hope you will find this project easy, ad the receiver will be the happiest child in the world. Let me know what do you think about it.

A huge birthday cake dinosaur

We just celebrated a first birthday of my nephew. And his father ordered a big cake in shape of dinosaur. Beautiful work and the cake was delicious. Creativity is everywhere around us we just need to learn to see and appreciate it.
So what do you think about this cake? Would you like a bite?

New ideas what to use spellbinders dies for

Hello dear readers, just recently ordered a new ebosser from crafted's companion. Can't wait for it to arrive to explore new possibilities and crisp cuts and embossing.
In a mean time I have been experimenting with my manual die cutting machine and spellbinders dies. I have achieved an interesting results. I tried to cut suede leather, however the die (even simple designs) did not cut it through, but what I achieved a very delicate interesting pattern.
Look for yourself and let me know what do you think. I do believe this is a new horizons of new possibilities, especially that new ebosser should cut through the thickness of up to 3mm and cut leather with no problems.

Vintage card topper in simple way

 Dear Crafters,

Have you ever wandered how to make a glamorous Vintage look topper for a card in simple way?

I recently noticed strong tendencies towards the vintage look. This is a great style and brings back the nostalgia about the past and gorgeous ladies and gentlemen. Because we are talking about aged pictures or photographs it is expected to see yellowed brownish greyish or similar pallet colours.

To reflect these tendencies in toppers for cards can be achieved in a very simple way.

LET'S GET STARTED

card making using recycled product

Hello everybody, I finally finished my project Bella Rosa and I am quite pleased with it. It turned out better than I expected. Take a look and let me know what do you think about it.

Paintings in oils. Not only brush strokes

I painted this picture couple months ago. This was my first attempt in oil painting using Bob Ross tutorials. I just love this artist and his positive energy. Of course i could not follow the tutorial step by step so ended up with my own original picture.
I added seagulls in the distance and every time i look at this picture i feel as free as these birds in the sky. Love these birds and miss them as well as my city. My city Klaipeda is located by the Baltic sea, so we have these birds as a part of natural landscape. More that when i used to work on Curonian Spit, i had to go to my work via ferry and these birds used to follow us forward and back while we were crossing Curonian Lagoon.
Curonian spit is one of the most natural beautiful places in the world. A great place to have peaceful holidays.
It is under UNESCO heritage protection. I provide a link for more information http://www.nerija.lt/en
There is a sea museum and dolphin aquarium at the end of Curonian Spit. The sea museum is unique because they specialize into fauna of Baltic sea. The dolphin aquarium not only provides an attraction for tourists, but they play an important role in rehabilitation for disabled children. These kids interact with dolphins, pay with them, swim and it helps them to deal with there disabilities easier, even improve. And dolphins are happy with all attention they receive from kids.

If you have been to this divine place let me and my readers know what do you think about it?

This rose was dedicated to one of my good friends. She just loves roses and she is one of the best in the world. Unselfish and giving. She asked for a picture ages ago, but i did not have courage to paint. So after a few tutorials on youtube and few long evenings I ended up with this picture. It takes the respectable place in my friend's house at the moment.
I believe that giving from the heart makes us richer and emotionally more satisfied. what do you think?

Card making from recycled materials

Dear crafters, yesterday I just started on my new project with rose cut out of tin can. Today I was still not happy with the rose itself. It was to dark in shadow. I decided to enhance it with heat emboss.I over stamped the rose with clear ink and heat embossed with gold powder. Now I can see it  as a focal point for any project. Did not decided how I will finish it, but full tutorial will follow.
So what do you think about my rose so far? Any suggestions?

There are more ideas in articles 'Recycle and Create'.

INTRODUCTION TO CRAFTS COMMUNITY

Hello everybody in love with crafts,

I created this blog to join the best community in the world crafter's community.

I have been artistic since i remember myself. The biggest my passion was drawing. After graduating an University, i enrolled into a professional school for dressmakers.Which I graduated with success and became a professional designer-dressmaker. During my studies i had an honor to practice with one of the best designers in my city Audrone Benetiene, who is famous for her unique romantic vintage style. As i look back I realize that this designer was ahead of all designers. More that ten years ago she was creating garments which become popular and come into fashion only now.
Due to interesting changes in my life i moved to UK. With no intentions to stay in this country i have been living for the last 7 years in England, Greater Manchester area Bury. Where i was practising holistic and beauty treatments. During these years i became a professional nail technician with specialization in advanced acrylic and free stroke nail art, holistic therapist.

Quite recently i discovered a new passion paper crafting. I was fascinated by the beauty of handmade items and cards. Everything started from create and craft.tv channel and their famous hosts such as Sue Wilson, Dawn Bibby, Joanna Sheen, Sheena Douglas, Linda Ravencroft and other famous craft presenters. The new interest helped me to fight my depression, which apparently was very deep. I even did not realize how serious i was affected by it, until i started getting better. And everything thanks to crafts.

During my research i found a lot of brilliant tutorials on youtube, but Chritina Griffiths is one of the best. She inspired me to share my ideas and acknowledges with the rest of the world.

I will be featuring my ideas of cards making, drawing, clothes designing. Preparing tutorials from the basic to advanced level.
Please join me, share your ideas and enjoy this blog. Take a sneak peek.
